Although it's been a long time since my last journal entry on here, my entire life has been spun around and into a new direction. As some of my watches have noticed, I've gotten more into the wedding photography side of things as of late. That is in large part due to my change in geographic locations. Late July of 2011 I moved from Cheyenne to Oklahoma City, and more photography opportunities have arisen. I was able to snag a photography studio job the day that I moved here, allowing me to have a better insight to how a studio is ran. I still work part time at the studio when I'm not too busy working at a telecommunications center as a Technical Support Specialist. Although it's not something I'm planning on doing the rest of my life, the pay is extremely good. (12+ starting, and with bonuses it becomes about 20+ per hour.) I get benefits of every kind with wonderful hours, just to listen to people and fix their phone issues. All of this is allowing me to buy new camera equipment, and that is an amazing feeling. I have connections through the city, and I'm slowly building my business. In other good news I'm also now attached to an event planning company that my friend just got off the ground in Texas; Big Texas Weddings & Events. [link]
In regards to my personal life, a lot has changed. This is a lot overdo for this journal, but I'm no longer engaged &I'm perfectly content with that. I've been single for a while now, and have been on a few dates here and there. I don't need someone in my life to complete me, and I find those who jump from one relationship to the next to be spineless and downright foolhardy. Oh, I'll be starting roller derby come April with a new group of recruits. I'm hoping to join the lightening broads (but that's the inner Thor nut speaking). I couldn't be more excited. When my sister moves here this December, I'm hoping we can play together. Although, I'm rather sure she could kick my ass either way. On another plus note, since the new year I've dropped two pant sizes. Hells yeah for motivation!
But for now I must sleep. Tomorrow is filled with yet more amazing technical support questions and even a drag show in the evening.
Tonight, the rain is my lullaby.
